When they were baby and up to 3 years old, I used my ergo carrier. One of the kids usually carries a backpack with water and snacks. And yes to remembering hats and sunscreen!

We’ve always hiked with our kids, since the first was born. If you’re just taking a short hike, you can easily grab your gear and head out the door. It doesn’t have to take a lot of preparation if you have everything you need to hike with kids.
