July is the hottest month of the year at this park and it will be busy. Explore the park in the mornings when it’s much cooler and there aren’t as many people.
The Fruita area is a popular location at Capitol Reef! The Gifford Homestead, Blacksmith Shop, barn and orchards are fun to see, explore and photograph.
The Capitol Reef scenic drive is a must-see! You can also explore Cathedral Valley and Burr Trail if you’ve got the right vehicle. There are also guided tours you can take if you don't have a high-clearance vehicle!
Capitol Reef is internationally recognized as a great place to stargaze due to its remote location. With clear skies you get some of the most incredible views of the night sky that you will ever see.
