Capitol Reef National Park in July

From hiking trails and canyons to historic sites and scenic drives, there is something for everyone in Capitol Reef National Park during the month of July.

July is the hottest month of the year at this park and it will be busy. Explore the park in the mornings when it’s much cooler and there aren’t as many people.

The Fruita area is a popular location at Capitol Reef! The Gifford Homestead, Blacksmith Shop, barn and orchards are fun to see, explore and photograph.

The Capitol Reef scenic drive is a must-see! You can also explore Cathedral Valley and Burr Trail if you’ve got the right vehicle. There are also guided tours you can take if you don't have a high-clearance vehicle!
