Capitol Reef National Park Spring Activities 

Visiting Capitol Reef National Park is a "list topper" for places to visit in Utah.   It's an ideal location for spring activities such as hiking, biking, off-roading, and photography.


Capitol Reef is a great Spring Vacation destination, displaying a landscape filled with colorful cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges.

A great way to learn about activities in the park, and the park itself is through Ranger-led programs.  The Visitor Center is a great source about road and weather conditions in the park.

The Capitol Reef Scenic Drive is about 8 miles long.  The main drive is a paved road suitable for passenger vehicles. There are dirt spur roads that are accessible to passenger cars as well.  There may be closures for weather conditions.

The Fruita District is the heart of the park.  There is amazing Geology, Historic Structures, and Fruit Orchards.

Hikes in the Spring are a great way to experience the park.  There are well marked easy, moderate and strenuous hiking trails.

Capitol Reef landscapes are beautiful and colorful for photography.  There are historic structures and wildlife that provide amazing photo opportunities. The night sky in spring is spectacular.
