– Use binoculars, a spotting scope or telephoto lens – When possible, hike in groups of at least 3 people.

– Stay inside or close to your car when observing bears. – stay at least 100 yards from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards from all other wildlife

Best Time of Day to See Wildlife

Plan to be in Lamar or Hayden before sunrise.  Dawn and dusk provide the best chance to see bears and wolves.
