When visiting Zion National Park in January, crowds will be smaller as it’s outside the peak visiting season for this popular Utah National Park.
In January, you can drive your car through Zion Canyon and not worry about riding the shuttle, except during holiday weekends.
The temperatures at Zion in January will be cooler, and at times cold, but still pleasant enough for outdoor activities. Weather can be unpredictable with rain and snow.
Zion is located in Southern Utah. Normally they do not see a lot of snow, but may at times see up to 5 inches fall in a year. When it does snow at Zion, the contrast of the colorful rocks with the white snow is just beautiful.
