Canyonlands National Park in the winter is a great time to go.

Winter Weather at Canyonlands

NOVEMBER: Highs 56 and lows 30 degrees Fahrenheit. DECEMBER: Highs 45 and lows 23 degrees Fahrenheit. JANUARY: Highs 44 and lows 22 degrees Fahrenheit.

Stop at the Visitor Center

Make the Island in the Sky Visitor Center your very first spot! It is open 5 days a week in the winter. Be sure to check the NPS website for updated information. 

Scenic Drive

In the winter, the park roads may be temporarily closed to allow for snow removal. You’ll want to check road conditions before making the long drive to Canyonlands to find out the park is closed.

Take a Hike

Hiking is one of the popular activities to do at Canyonlands. There are hundreds of miles of hiking trails to explore the park.
