There are plenty of fun things to do in Carmel-by-the-Sea during the month of June. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are beautiful hiking trails with spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding landscapes. You can also rent a bike and explore the town on two wheels, taking in all the charming architecture and lush gardens.
If you’re a foodie, you’re in luck. Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week runs the beginning of June. This even features a thriving culinary scene, with an array of restaurants offering everything from fresh seafood to farm-to-table dishes. Plus, there are plenty of wine tasting rooms where you can sample the region’s famous wines.
For art lovers, June is the perfect time to visit Carmel. The town hosts a variety of art festivals and events throughout the month, showcasing the work of local artists. Cayucos, California in June
Tucked between Cambria and Morro Bay, this charming beach town has one main street and lots of old-fashioned summer beach vibes. Originally a bustling Chumash settlement, Cayucos (pronounced kai-u-cos) transitioned into a port town before becoming the laid-back spot it is today.
Miles of unobstructed sand offer endless exploring – from beach walks to tide pools to beach glass to kite flying to sandcastle building. Parents can relax while kids conquer the waves body surfing or taking surf lessons.
Check out the historic Cayucos Pier, browse one of the antique shops or just watch the seabirds. For seafood, Schooners (order the calamari) and Duckie’s Chowder House are favorites with tourists and locals. No visit is complete without a dozen (or so) Brown Butter Cookies.
Cayucos is a great base for further adventures. Discover Cambria’s art galleries and wineries within a 30-minute drive. Explore Morro Bay’s harbor, known for playful otters. History buffs can visit Hearst Castle, a hilltop monument overlooking the Pacific. Wine lovers can explore Paso Robles wine country, also 30 minutes away, where Rhône blends abound.

Disneyland and California Adventure in June
Disneyland is a fantastic place to visit in California in June. Located in Anaheim, Disneyland is a short drive south of central LA and is home to two amazing parks, Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure. Both are full of fun and magic for everyone. You can enjoy awesome rides like the Cars-themed Radiator Springs Racers and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and meet Disney favorites including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck and the Disney Princesses.
June is an awesome month to visit Disneyland and the temperatures and crowds tend to be more manageable than July and August. The long sunny days mean there is lots of time to try out some of the best snacks in Disneyland California and still enjoy leisurely afternoons relaxing by the hotel pool. Santa Monica in June is an absolute dream! Picture-perfect weather, stunning beaches, and endless activities make it a must-visit spot in California. The iconic Santa Monica Pier is a must-see. It has epic views from its famous ferris wheel in Pacific Park. You can spend hours exploring the shops, enjoying street performers, or just soaking up the sun.
And if you time your visit just right, heading to Santa Monica around sunset is pure magic. Not only is the scenery gorgeous, but it also helps take some of the hot summer sun out of the mix. After the sun sets, Pacific Park lights up. It’s truly special to see the park transform at different times of the day.
If you want an amazing restaurant experience, you have to head to Elephante! Their spicy vodka pasta is to die for and will easily become one of your favorite meals. Plus, the views and vibe at Elephante are stunning. This spot is very popular though, so be sure to make reservations in advance!

South Lake Tahoe, California in June
South Lake Tahoe is a picturesque lake city. Think sandy beaches with gorgeous views of mountains in the background. In June, you’ll have mostly sunny days with average afternoon temperature between 69-77 degrees Fahrenheit.
June is an ideal time to visit Lake Tahoe if you want to walk on the beach, rent a boat or go on a guided tour, or enjoy a nice lunch with views of the lake. Even opt for a helicopter tour!
Stop by the Beacon Bar & Grill to enjoy a nice lakeside meal. Be sure to try their Rum Runners, that’s what they’re known for!

Where To Stay Near Lake Tahoe
Yosemite National Park in June
June is one of the best months to visit Yosemite National Park near California’s stunning Sierra Nevadas. Its famed waterfalls will be flowing at their maximum capacity; most of its high elevation areas, like Glacier Point, have opened for the year; and the crowds are not as crazy as in July and August.
Even if you have just one day in Yosemite National Park, be sure to make the short and easy hike to Yosemite Falls, which, at 2,425 feet, is one of the tallest waterfalls in North America. For a more challenging waterfall hike, try the Mist Trail, an aptly named pathway where you’ll climb up amidst the mist of Vernal Falls.
