There are a variety of things to do at Bryce Canyon National Park all year round. Plus, Bryce Canyon even hosts a variety of festivals each year that guests of all ages will enjoy: Geology Festival, Prairie Dog Festival, and Astronomy Festival.
Best Time of Year For Bryce Canyon Tours
Because Bryce Canyon has a high-elevation climate, weather conditions can be extremely variable throughout spring, fall and winter. Therefore, always check the daily Bryce Canyon National Park weather forecast to see if the park is experiencing any weather-related closures.
It’s important to know what to expect during the various seasons of the year so you can decide the best time to visit Bryce Canyon for what you want to see, do and photograph.
Spring Weather at Bryce Canyon: Due to the elevation, spring will be cold, and may even be snowy: March Highs 45 | Lows 23 – April Highs 54 | Lows 29 – May Highs 64 | Lows 37 degrees F.
Be sure to pack outdoor winter clothing so you can enjoy the activities and tours!

Use sun protection: sunhat and sunscreen and stay hydrated: hydration pack or a refillable water bottle in your backpack. Summer monsoon rain storms are common as well so check the weather to see if you may also need a rain jacket.
Fall Weather at Bryce Canyon: temperatures are cooler and there are fewer people taking vacations this time of year, making it the perfect time for visiting: September Highs 69 | Lows 37 degrees – October Highs 57 | Lows 29 degrees – November Highs 45 | Lows 15 degrees F.
Winter Weather at Bryce Canyon: it will be cold and snowy in the winter, but the crowds are gone and you can truly appreciate this park in all its natural beauty. It is especially gorgeous with the white snow contrasting against the red orange hoodoos: December Highs 26 | Lows 12 degrees – January Highs 36 | Lows 11 degrees – February Highs 36 | Lows 11 degrees F
During the winter it is especially important to dress in layers. We recommend an insulted winter jacket, fleece jacket, warm hat and gloves if you’ll be doing any outside activities.
