There are no hotels in Arches or Canyonlands, only campgrounds, so most people stay in the small town of Moab, just 5 minutes from Arches and 30 minutes from Canyonlands Island in the Sky.

Since we visit and stay in the Moab area many times each year, we wrote this guide to help you find the best Moab hotels near Arches and Canyonlands.

The hotels are listed in location order from the north end of Moab (close to Arches and Island in the Sky) to the south end of town (close to Canyonlands Needles).

You’ll even find budget-friendly motels and unique boutique hotels that seamlessly blend comfort with a splash of local culture.

If you’re looking for the easiest access to Arches or Canyonlands Island in the Sky, you’ll want to find hotels in the north part of Moab. Here’s a list of the hotels we recommend that are about 5 minutes from Arches and 30 minutes from Canyonlands Island in the Sky.

Most of the hotels in Moab are in the north end, or in the downtown area. If you plan to visit Canyonlands Needles in addition to Arches and Island in the Sky, then you might want to consider staying in the southern end of Moab.

We love the Moab South Valley vacation rentals that are only 15 minutes from Arches, 45 minutes from Island in the Sky, and less than 1 hour from Needles Canyonlands. The South Valley isn’t as busy or noisy as the North Valley or Downtown Moab.

Hotels in Downtown Moab Close To Restaurants and Shopping

The best access to restaurants and shopping is to stay right in town. There are many hotels in Moab that are walking distance to a variety of places to eat and shop.

Staying in downtown Moab only adds about 5 minutes to your drive to Arches and Island in the Sky. The Kokopelli Lodgings offer fun and unique lodging experiences!

Budget-Friendly Hotels and Cabins Near Arches and Canyonlands

The best prices for hotels in Moab is to visit during the winter off-season. If a trip to Moab in the winter isn’t for you, there are still budget lodging options available.

Our criteria for these budget hotels and cabins is that they offer free breakfast or have a kitchenette – or at least a small fridge and microwave. It’s amazing the cheap meals you can make with only a microwave! Eating meals in is one of the best budget tips for travel. 

You can find budget-friendly cabins at many Moab area RV Parks too! Here’s a list of places to stay in the North and South Valleys of Moab that won’t break the bank!

TIP: Check to see if bedding and towels are provided at the cabins at these campgrounds. The cost savings may not be worth the hassle, or you may not have the room, to pack sheets or sleeping bags and towels. We live fairly close to Moab so it wasn’t inconvenient to pack sheets and towels.

Vacation Rentals and Resorts Near Arches and Canyonlands

There are a variety of vacation rentals in Moab. You’ll find many close to downtown, which is nice so you can walk to shopping and restaurants.

You’ll find some vacation rentals in Moab with amenities like a private hot tub, community pool (during the warmer months), gym, playground, etc. You might want access to a garage or extra parking for your ATVs.

The resorts in Moab offer extra amenities like a pool, bar, or other recreational activities on or near their property.
