Bandon, Oregon in June
June weather in Bandon is mild with average daytime temperatures around 60 to 70 degrees F. Nights are cool with temperatures dipping into the 50s. Rainfall is less frequent in June.
For nature lovers, June is the perfect time to explore Bandon’s natural wonders. Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a must-see, with its towering rock formations and stunning ocean views. Hikers can also take advantage of the mild weather to explore nearby trails such as Coquille Point or Bullards Beach State Park.
For golf enthusiasts, the Bandon Dune Golf Resort boasts five world-renowned courses, each with its own unique layout and challenges. With June’s mild weather, golfers can tee off and enjoy a round without being too hot or dealing with unpredictable rain.
The Bandon Cranberry Festival, held in late June, celebrates the local cranberry harvest with food tastings, live music, and a parade. Bend, Oregon in June
Bend, Oregon, is a great place to visit in Oregon in June for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Besides the last Blockbuster and a great food scene, there is also plenty to do outside. From hiking to kayaking down the river, you’ll find you want to extend your time in Bend.
Take a steep walk (or drive if you prefer) to the top of Pilot Butte at sunset for a great 360 degree view of the area. On a clear day, you’ll be able to pick out Three Sisters, Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood.
If you enjoy caves, make sure to visit the Lava River Cave. It’s only open from May through September, and you’ll need a reservation to visit the longest lava tube in Oregon. Skylight Cave is another great option and more off the beaten path. Make sure to visit on a sunny day to see the light shine through the skylights. Cannon Beach, Oregon in June
Cannon Beach is arguably the most famous town along the Oregon Coast, which is a spectacular destination for June. The weather can reach up to the mid-70s, with sunny skies—perfect for strolling on the beach or having other outdoor adventures in the area.
Of course, one of the most popular things to do in Cannon Beach is explore the eponymous beach itself. June is extra special, because you might get to spot puffins, who take up residence on the north side of Haystack Rock, the beach’s famous sea stack. There’s usually a group of volunteers with spotting scopes so you can get a better look at these feathered cuties.
Another not-to-be-missed activity is exploring the nearby state parks. For example, head to Short Sands Beach at Oswald West State Park to watch the surfers (or, if you’re brave, face the chilly waves yourself!). Ecola State Park is also an incredible option, with a variety of hiking trails that wind through its coastal forests and lead to wild and rugged beaches. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon in June
The Columbia River Gorge is one of the best Oregon photography locations to visit in June thanks to the melting snow in the mountains. This stunning stretch of land has over 90 waterfalls— many are small seasonal waterfalls that only flow during heavy rains and snow melts.
Some of the best waterfalls to add to your list are Latourell, Horsetail, Multnomah and Wahclella falls. Timed Use Permits for Multnomah Falls are required during the month of June, but it is an iconic must-see stop thanks to the historic lodge and the towering 620 foot waterfall.
Not only is the Columbia River Gorge an amazing place to do waterfall hikes in June, there are so many other exciting activities to choose from. There is a vehicle-free trail, perfect for biking between waterfalls. There are multiple great viewpoint options from the Vista House, which you can drive right up to, or the Angel’s Rest trail.
Grabbing drinks and a meal in Hood River is a must with so many amazing restaurants to choose from. Hood River is also a fun stop to watch the wind surfers out on the Columbia River. No matter what activities you choose, spending a day or two exploring the Columbia River Gorge is sure to be full of beautiful adventures. Crater Lake National Park in June
Crater Lake National Park is located in southern Oregon and home to the United States’ deepest volcanic lake, known for its striking blue color.
The park is open year-round, and it’s a popular place to visit in Oregon in summer, especially in July and August. Visiting in June you can experience sunny days with alternate periods of rain and even snow!
Depending on snow levels, the Rim Road could be partially open in June. You can hike along Rim Road when it is closed to vehicles.
In June you can drive up to the Crater Lake Lodge and enjoy the view from the patio. The lodge will be open in so plan to enjoy a meal or even stay overnight. Newport, Oregon in June
Newport is a gorgeous coastal Oregon town that is fantastic to visit in June. The Pacific Ocean is warming up and the beaches are a bit less crowded in June. Nye Beach and South Beach State Park are popular for swimming and beachcombing.
Newport is the home of the Oregon Coast Aquarium, one of the top ten aquariums in the United States. The whole family will enjoy the marine exhibits and the touch tanks filled with jellyfish and octopus. You can also see the feeding of sea otters and puffins.
Be sure to visit the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. The interpretive center fills you in on the history of the lighthouse and the marine wildlife in the area.
Newport is the perfect place to see marine mammals. Head to the harbor waterfront to watch hundreds of sea lions lounging on Sea Lion Dock. While the huge males compete for a space on the dock, the females glide through the surrounding waters. June is a great time to see gray whales migrating north. Go on a whale watch tour or observe them from the shore.

Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway in June
For waterfall enthusiasts, don’t miss out on the beauty of Oregon’s Waterfall Highway, the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway. It’s a 172-mile scenic drive that starts in the town of Roseburg and ends at Crater Lake National Park. . Along its route, it traverses through two national forests – the Umpqua National Forest and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
June is a terrific time to visit these US Bucket List Waterfalls in Oregon. They are full due to the melting snow in the surrounding peaks. Some falls can be accessed with an easy walk from a parking lot like Watson Falls, Toketee Falls, and Clearwater Falls. Others require a bit of hiking like Lemolo Falls, Susan Creek Falls, Fall Creek Falls, and Wolf Creek Falls.

Located on the rugged Oregon coast, Samuel H. Boardman State Park and Scenic Corridor offers a variety of things to do! With its endless hiking opportunities, stunning photography opportunities, and options for camping and lodging, this park has something for everyone.
One of the best ways to experience all that Samuel H. Boardman State Park has to offer is by hiking its many trails. With over 27 miles of interconnecting trails, hikers of all levels can find a route that suits their skill level and interests. Some of the best trails include: Secret Beach Trail, Lone Beach Trail, and China Beach Trail.

Sisters, Oregon in June
One of the best places to visit in Oregon in June is Sisters, and here’s why. Every second week of June since 1940, this small high-desert town hosts “The Biggest Little Show in the World,” the Sisters Rodeo. With bull riding, barrel racing, and the town’s 1880s facade, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into an Old Western. It’s truly a unique experience you won’t want to miss.
Sisters is situated at a transition point between the Cascade mountains to its west and the high desert of Central Oregon to its east. You’ll find a variety of things to do in Sisters and the surround area. The Cascades and Central Oregon both offer countless outdoor adventures, from mountain biking to rock climbing, from hiking to white water rafting, and so much more.
In June, the winter mountain snow has usually melted, except for the higher elevation peaks, so seasonal trails and roads are reliably open. However, the intense summer heat of July and August typically hasn’t set in yet.
