Zion Campgrounds

Camping in Zion National Park can be done at these three campgrounds: the Watchman Campground, the South Campground, and the Lava Point Campground.

Watchman Campground: It’s located about a quarter of a mile from the south entrance of Zion. This campsite has 176 regular sites and 8 specialized sites with both tent and electric campsites that are available to guests year round so you can enjoy winter camping in Zion National Park. Reservations are highly recommended since this campground is fully booked throughout the high season.

South Campground: It’s located just a half mile from the south entrance of Zion. Lava Point Campground: Located in the Kolob Terrace area of Zion 25 miles north of the town of Virgin, Utah. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to get away from the crowds. It’s open May through September with only 6 campsites that all operate on a first come first serve basis, the only amenities here are pit toilets and trash cans since running water is not available.

Hotels in Springdale, Utah – this is the closest town right outside the entrance to Zion. We like to stay here so we can optimize early and late visits to the park without the drive or need to pay for parking.
