Things To Do in Teton Village in the Summer
Even the tiniest towns have a lot to offer and Teton Village has everything you need for an unforgettable vacation.
Summer is one the best times to visit Grand Teton National Park and the Jackson Hole area. Here are a few favorite things to do in Teton Village in the summer:
Take an Aerial Tram to Rendezvous Peak
Jackson Hole Aerial Tram is a must-do in the summer and a Teton Village tradition. This 12-minute ride up in an Aerial Tram climbs an astonishing 4,139 vertical feet, taking you to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain. This is the easiest way to stand at the top of the Teton Range.
Here you’ll get breathtaking 360-degree views of the Jackson Hole valley, the Grand Tetons, and the surrounding mountain ranges; all offering fabulous photo opportunities.
Ride the Bridger Gondola
Each Bridger Gondola seats six people and travels to the top of the gondola station, where you can enjoy the famous waffles at Corbet’s or enjoy a cappuccino or wine on the patio any time of day.
Here at “Top of the World” you’ll see impressive views of the Tetons while having access to a bar, restaurant, and on some nights, live music. You can take a free ride up at 5pm but the line starts around 4:30pm. Rides are on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be purchased on-site or online in advance.
*The restaurant is at the top of the Gondola but not the Tram, the Tram goes to a higher elevation. The Tram offers the more incredible views while the Gondola takes you to a busier Top of the World.
Cross Paragliding Off your Bucket List
Paragliding at Jackson Hole is an exhilarating way to fully experience the beauty of the Teton Range and Snake River valley. Jackson Hole Paragliding offers tandem flights with a professional pilot, and no experience is necessary.
You can truly soar high above all of Teton Village. Instructors are certified and experienced mountain pilots. This air experience is fun for the whole family; there is no age limit and everyone between 40 to 220 pounds can fly.
If you’re ready to get out of your comfort zone, paragliding is a great way to take in the awe and wonder of both the mountain range and the open sky. Even if you’re not ready, you might surprise yourself after seeing everyone else enjoying it so much.
Explore Grand Adventure Park
Grand Adventure Park is a series of outdoor activities located at the base of the Gondola in Teton Village at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Offering plenty of adventure and fun for the entire family, everyone can find something here they enjoy.
The bungee trampoline, climbing wall, and ropes course is the most popular activities for the kids, and with a Grand Adventure Pass you can get unlimited access to those plus the Teewinot chairlift, Tram and Gondola.
Other activities include riding the bike park, playing disc golf, or hiking one of the many beautiful trails offered from Teton Village Resort.
Tackle the Teton Village Trails on Horseback
If you’re looking for a true authentic Cowboy experience you must check out the Teton trails on horseback. A favorite in the area, Teton Village Trail Rides allows new and experienced riders the chance to get reacquainted with nature and the past.
At Teton Village Trail Rides you can take advantage of a 1- or 2-hour horseback ride where you’ll ride up the mountain and through meadows with stunning views of the Teton mountains. Teton Village Trail Rides allows children ages 6 or older to ride, and horses are suited for riders of every experience level. They also offer parent lead pony rides for children under 6, making this a fun family activity for everyone.
Steal the Energy from the Local Music Scene
Music makes everything better, and Teton Village is a great place to unwind and hear live music by local bands. Live music is everywhere in Jackson Hole and I’m sure you can find the perfect vibe.
Teton Village really kicks it up a notch in the summer months with open mic nights, a live music concert every Sunday night, a summer classical concert series, and the Grand Teton Music Festivals. Live music is the perfect backdrop to a Grand Teton vacation.
