When planning your Arches National Park vacation, it’s important to know there are no hotels or lodging options in the park except for one small campground at Devil’s Garden. Reservations for camping at Arches are required from March 1 to October 31. Between November 1 and February 28, all camping sites at Arches are first-come, first served.
Living only hours away from the park, we’ve visited often and have stayed in a variety of lodging accommodations near Arches. This article is based on our experiences over the years staying in Moab.

There are no lodges or hotels in Arches National Parks so most people stay in Moab, about 5 miles from the entrance to the park.

What To Look For in Hotels for Families Near Arches National Park
Some of the things to look for when booking a hotel for your family near Arches are free breakfast included, a pool, and cleanliness. Keep in mind many of the pools in Moab are only open seasonally.
Unless you have a small family, hotel suites are a great way to get some extra space without reserving multiple rooms. A benefit of choosing a hotel over a vacation rental is that there is often a great cancelation policy.
When visiting Arches National Park with kids, we recommend you get a hotel close to the park entrance. This makes it easy to take a nap, or use the pool, during the heat of the day, and take advantage of the cooler early morning and evening hours in the park.

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Moab – The Fairfield is on the north end of Moab, closest to the entrance of Arches National Park. It’s a great location, and right near the river. The Fairfield also includes breakfast, and has an outdoor pool.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Moab – The Holiday Inn is further into town than the Fairfield, but that just makes the location even better. Easy access to both the town of Moab, and Arches National Park. Family-friendly amenities include a heated outdoor pool, and free breakfast. Reviewers also mention the cleanliness of the Holiday Inn.
Aarchway Inn – The Aarchway Inn, also on the very north end of Moab, offers rooms with 3 queen beds, and family rooms, both of which sleep 6, which is unusual for a hotel. There is a heated pool and a playground. No breakfast is offered, but rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave to enjoy Make Ahead Freezer Friendly Breakfasts for Road Trip Travel!
Hotel Moab Downtown – If you’re looking for something more in the city center, Hotel Moab is a great option. It’s right in the heart of Moab, walking distance to shops and restaurants, and offers family rooms. There is no breakfast, but the rooms do have a microwave.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Moab – If your family includes a pet, La Quinta is our pick for pet-friendly hotel. There’s no extra charge for the first two pets. Breakfast is included with your stay. The hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool, and a hot tub that is open year round.
What To Look For in Vacation Rentals for Families Near Arches National Park
The number one thing to look for in a vacation rental when traveling with kids is to read the reviews! Photos can be edited, but reviews will show actual experiences from travelers who have stayed at the vacation rental.
With young kids, it’s especially important to note mentions of cleanliness in reviews. You don’t want your toddler on a gross vacation rental floor.
If your kids are used to baths rather than showers, keep an eye on that in the amenities section of vacation rentals.
Having access to a pool is great, and many vacation rentals near Arches National Park. also have private hot tubs. You can also check for other family-friendly amenities such as pool or ping pong tables. In house laundry is a must for a vacation rental with kids.
Vacation Rentals for Families Near Arches National Park
Entrada Vacation Rentals – The Entrada complex is near downtown Moab, and offer access to a pool. These condos are on the newer side, and reviews say they are very clean, which is something to look for if you have young children who play on the floor. The complex is also just two blocks from the Moab Recreation center, offering swimming pool, playground and more.
Cottonwoods Vacation Rentals – Cottonwoods townhomes in Moab are a bit older, and therefore more budget friendly. his is also a great central location in Moab.
Here’s another Cottonwoods condo option includes a hot tub, and also bicycles to get to downtown without worrying about parking.
You can also find vacation homes in Moab with firepits, for dessert in the desert after nightfall.
Red Cliff Condos – These condos are another very budget friendly vacation rental for families near Arches National Park. This complex is in the Moab South Valley, just a few miles south of city center.
RV Parks and Campgrounds for Families Near Arches National Park
In the town of Moab and the surrounding area you’ll find RV resorts, campgrounds and primitive camping on public lands. If you’re planning to camp with kids in Arches National Park in the summer, access to a pool is highly recommended.
Arches National Park Campround – Devil’s Garden is the campground at the park with 51 campsites. You’ll need to reserve a campsite at Arches in advance. The advantage to camping inside the park is less driving. Not only is this campground conveniently located within Arches National Park, there is even a loop trail that starts right at the campground.
Sun Outdoors North Moab – Ten miles from Arches National Park his RV Park is within walking distance to the Colorado River, and offers a swimming pool – perfect for cooling off with kids. Site options include full RV hook-ups, covered tent sites, and vacation rentals.
BLM Camping along the Colorado River – Access to the nearby Colorado River for cooling off is a great way to make camping with kids in Arches a success. These campgrounds are all first come, first served, so grab your spot early in the day. You can also find BLM Camping at Sand Flats.
Under Canvas Moab – The canvas tents offered at Under Canvas are not only fun for kids, they have comfy beds that remove some of the trepidation of camping with kids. You can book family suites with a separate kids tent. The tents also have a fan to help cool you off after a hot day of hiking.
