Packing List for Spring Weather at Utah National Parks
You may still need warm winter clothing in early spring, especially in the cold morning and evening times: winter coat, fleece jacket, winter hat and gloves.
Hiking boots should be warm and waterproof. No one wants soggy feet!
Utah is a dry environment so don’t forget lip balm, lotion, and wear sunscreen.
Staying hydrated is important since the Utah National Parks are in a desert environment. Pack your water bottles and healthy snacks!

Arches National Park Spring Weather
Here’s what you can expect when visiting Arches National Park in the Spring:
The Arches National Park weather in the spring is starting to get warmer, but the mornings and evenings will still be cold. Keep in mind the weather can be unpredictable if a storm rolls through with rain, and possibly snow in early spring!

Bryce Canyon Spring Weather
Here’s what you can expect when visiting Bryce Canyon National Park in the Spring:
The park’s elevation is 9,100 feet which means Bryce Canyon National Park weather in the spring is still cold with the possibility of rain and snow storms. Be prepared with winter gear and clothing when visiting in early spring.

- April – highs 54° | lows 29° F
- May – highs 64° | lows 37° F
The main Bryce Canyon scenic drive could be closed due to weather and road conditions, which means you’ll only be able to see the amphitheater section of the park.
But the amphitheater has some of the best Bryce Canyon views and photo spots to capture stunning landscape photography.

Canyonlands Spring Weather
It’s nice to be able to explore the park all day long without worrying about the daytime heat during the summer! But Canyonlands National Park in the spring is a popular season so expect crowds!
The Canyonlands National Park weather will be cold in the mornings and evenings. Keep in mind the weather can be unpredictable if a storm rolls through with rain, or even snow in early spring!

Capitol Reef Spring Weather
The Capitol Reef National Park weather in early spring is still cold and you may experience snow or rain.

The Capitol Reef scenic drive is a must-do activity to see and photograph the cliffs, canyons, domes and bridges! If you’re up for adventure, you can explore the Cathedral Valley District or Waterpocket District of Capitol Reef. They are remote, rugged regions that requires vehicles with high ground clearance. In the spring you may need four-wheel drive depending on road and weather conditions.

Zion National Park Spring Weather
The Zion National Park shuttle buses are running in the spring – check the NPS website for the most current shuttle dates and information. The Zion Canyon scenic drive is closed to private vehicles during the shuttle season.
Zion National Park weather in early spring is wet so be prepared with rain gear in case a storm rolls through so you can still enjoy the outdoor activities at the park.
